Coupling Protective Device

  1. The protective device of coupling is usually provided by the buyer himself. Therefore, this part of the content does not belong to the requirements of the coupling.

  II. Basic Requirements

  1. The buyer or contractor shall specify the type of protective devices required.

  2. Each coupling shall have a protective device to seal the coupling and shaft, so as to prevent people or objects from entering this dangerous area when the unit is in operation.

  3. Protective devices should be easily disassembled so that when the coupling is repaired and maintained, it will not affect the connecting machine.

  4. The structure of the protective device must have sufficient stiffness. When it is subjected to 900N static load, its deflection does not exceed 0.0005 times of the length of the non-support of the protective device.

  5. The protective device of the coupling requiring lubrication should be sealed.

  6. When necessary, the protective devices should be equipped with anti-whirl baffles to reduce the whirling effect of gas or oil.

  7. If necessary, protective devices may be made of materials that do not cause sparks due to friction.

  Flanged cylindrical shell protection devices are usually used in medium and high speed gear coupling and diaphragm coupling.

  3. The cylindrical shell protective devices connected by flanges are usually used on medium and high speed gear couplings and diaphragm couplings.

  1. The structure of the protective device is cylindrical and divided along the axis. The protective device is connected to the corresponding equipment in the unit by flange at both ends. One end of the protective device shall have a telescopic joint, and an O-ring shall be installed at the telescopic joint.

  2. If the coupling works under corrosive conditions and needs protection, the protective device shall be fitted with pipe joints for access to dry air or inert gas.

  3. Protective device for continuous lubrication of coupling.

  Each nozzle should be tightened to the protective device in the proper direction so that oil can be injected in the direction of rotation. If the unit runs in both directions, oil will be injected along the axis. Nozzles or tubing are not allowed to rub against couplings.

  The protective device shall remain sealed for at least three years.

  If the return oil of the coupling does not flow smoothly into the drain pipe of the connected machine, the flanged drain connector shall be provided below the protective device.

  If the buyer specifies, a transparent peep window should be installed on the protective device so that the working condition of each injector can be safely checked during the operation of the coupling.
